WEB DESIGN, WEB HOSTING AND WEB MARKETING
Gonzo Logic of Peoria, Arizona was created from the need to give the small
business owner or self employed individuals a chance at leveling the
playing field against their larger competitors and to help the
less-technically inclined to take advantage of the Internet to market
their businesses.
Vince Marino has brought this concept to many small and
home-based businesses to hundreds of business owners across the country
and he can do it for you.
After 10 years of having my own web consulting business and 6 years in the
mainstream advertising world as a media buyer for a national ad agency, I
have seen how difficult it can be to own and operate a business, let alone
trying to market it, especially for start-ups.
I just can't imagine how many of my fellow small businesses manage to
survive without an IT department or Internet Consultant. Most that do have
someone on their team that understands computers and the web, if they
don't they won't last much longer.
Even though much of the hype and promises of the DOT COM era have crumbled
and eroded away into memories of a happier time, I still believe in the
value of the Internet both from a commercial standpoint where web
marketing is critical to business surviving and from the originally
intended purpose of information retrieval and sharing.

USEFUL ADVERTISING VENUE OR MONEY PIT?
So despite the economy's ups and downs, I still feel it is by far the best
and most cost-effective way to promote your business and reach your
potential customers, as long as you spread out your advertising purchases
among the many different types that are pertinent to your business needs
and most importantly, you have a yearly plan for advertising and not just
when you have a few extra bucks...
If you want someone to remember your name or your business, you have to be
in front of them on a year-round basis. Establishing your brand takes time
unless you have an unlimited ad budget. There are thousands of ad
opportunities out there on the web, unfortunately, the average business
owner does not know these exist.
We are here to change that... "We Work The Web So You Don't Have To" not just another MEANINGLESS, CATCHY SLOGAN - it's our MISSION
STATEMENT.
Being on the inside of this industry has taught me many lessons about the
business world. Travesty's abound as multinational corporations and huge
advertising agencies are charging their clients millions of dollars for
ads that are totally worthless and not even targeted to the proper
audience.
They use terms like Paid Inclusion, Pop Unders, Pop Ups, Interstitials,
CPM, CPA and PPC (hey isn't that illegal?) and make it so confusing to the
client that they don't know what they are spending their money on or
whether it is working for them.
Even worse are some of the giant media publishers themselves, whose total
indifference to the advertiser shows through as soon as the contract is
signed and the money exchanged.
This rings true in most areas of the web unless you are spending $10K or
so and if you are not careful who you deal with. Remember, most media
sales reps work on a huge commission so they don't always have your best
interest at heart...sad but true
Now don't get me wrong - not all businesses online are jaded, and most
will go out of their way to make the client happy, but their are a few
"Evil Empires" (sorry g.dubbya) out there where you need someone like me
to watch your ASS-ETS...
I have seen it again and again where an ONLINE ADVERTISING order is
properly placed and by the time it gets published online, it has at least
a half dozen mistakes that end up taking months to get fixed because of
the tremendous "backlog".
Give me a break, please....I was born at night, but not last night ok?
Save it for some knucklehead because I'm not buying it... unfortunately
the un-educated business owner may not realize his order isn't showing up
where it should be, or have the features he purchased...
You have to ask yourself "if they did it right to begin with, there
wouldn't be such a tremendous backlog now would there?" Nuff said....can
you hear me now? Do you call that Super, Smart? or Real? I'd call it
Yellow. See More Here
Sure, mistakes happen, people are human and sometimes make mistakes,
nobody's perfect, but the least these online portals could admit it to the
customer instead of remaining quiet or denying anything is wrong, it must
be, as I have heard a million times over the last 6 years "a systems
failure that the engineers are working on" . I'm just thankful that these
"engineers" aren't developing financial programs, medical or defense
systems software....
This is why we have added yet another service to our offerings AD
AUDITING/TRACKING. For a nominal fee, we will audit all of your online
advertising purchases. This includes making sure the order is online
within the time specified by the publisher, and to make sure it is 100%
accurate. We can even track how many times your ad was visited by a unique
visitor, the only true measurement of your ROI and ad effectiveness.
Some firms provide you with how many impressions you received (how many
times your ad was displayed (not clicked on) and give you that number. It
benefits them to tell you that you had 10,000 impressions (sounds
impressive indeed) vs the actual 3 visitors that clicked on the link in
the ad from those 10,000 impressions. Statistics are a great thing - no
matter how you slice it, you can always make a negative a positive just by
altering the elements of a pie chart or building a huge spreadsheet that
nobody understands...but hey, it looks good right?
AUDITING YOUR ADVERTISING
Most of the time the data is accurate and ads are correct. Look the bottom
line is you want to get what you pay for and what you are willing to check
on.
Even if you are paying a few hundred dollars to a few hundred thousand,
you kind of want to know in advance that it needs to be correct especially
before your potential customers do...
The worst thing for me to see everyday is the way the that the
unsuspecting small business owners are double-talked and convinced to
spend money on ads or campaigns that will rarely, if ever, provide a
suitable return on investment for the money they have to spend.
Why does this happen? Lack of knowledge and ignorance. Most people I talk
to today have heard the buzzwords or use the techno speak as if it is a
second language to them, yet they know not of what they speak and it puts
a bull's-eye right on their wallet when the media salesman comes calling.
It's truly a shame how people waste money because their ego's get in the
way of sound business decisions.
That is one of the main reasons I am still around. I refuse to let people
get screwed because they don't know any better. My mission statement, if
you will, is simply this:
We Work The Web So You Don't Have To...
IS HE NUTS?
No, I am not some altruistic superhero, defending the rights of the little
guy against these behemoth corporations. And no, I am not completely 100%
crazy. (The jury is still out on that though) I just don't like to see
business owners make bad decisions that cost them money, and then they
turn gun-shy when a truly profitable offer comes along.
I make a living out of sharing my knowledge and talent, there's nothing
wrong with that and I am not ashamed of my profession. I really do enjoy
the work, the freedom to be creative and solve problems is far better for
me than to sit in a cubicle 60 hours a week staring at some code on the
screen that nobody will ever see or fully appreciate or actually care
about unless it's not working... can you say 3AM pager???
So I will continue to provide my knowledge, bargain with the media
companies on your behalf, build a few web sites here and there and always
make time for my incredible passion of writing books and articles about
this great wondrous thing we call the world wide web and occasionally
jamming on my Stratocaster guitar. (until the neighbors complain)

The funny thing about all of this, when I'm all done, between this and my
ex-wife, 2 step-daughters and former bosses, I'll have enough material to be a stand-up comedian for at least
10 years - see ya in Hollywood....or even better - The Strip in Vegas....I
could be the warm up act for Britney Spears or K-Fed....aarrrggghh someone
shoot me please.
